Pay a Living Wage

The minimum wage in Pennsylvania is stuck on $7.25 an hour.  If you work as a diner waitress or at Dorney Park it's...$2.83 an hour.  And businesses will pay that if they can get away with it.  So we need to raise this to a living wage of at least $15 an hour.  How?  Incremental- ly:  $9 an hour in 2026, $11 an hour in 2027, $13 an hour in 2028, and $15 an hour in 2029.  It's past time to ensure that everyone gets paid something of what they're worth...because when 10 gallons of gas, one gallon of milk, ten bananas, one box of cereal and one loaf of bread cost $50, you can't live on less than $8 an hour.

The video below is about living at $7.50 an hour...10 years ago.  Prices have gone way up since then.  Do you think it's easier today?

Love is creative and redemptive. Love builds up and unites; hate tears down and destroys. Physical force can repress, restrain, coerce, destroy, but it cannot create and organize anything permanent; only love can do that. Yes, love — which means understanding, creative and redemptive goodwill, even for one’s enemies — is the solution...
